Traveling on Your Own Traveling in Your Car Relationships Going Wrong No Means No To drink Or Not to Drink; That Is the Question Learning How to Fight Back How to Protect Yourself Against Grabs Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction I wrote this book to share what I have learned in gun handling and to give some idea, not only to women but also to men, of how a woman perceives this man-dominated "gadget" or equipment. I would say that 99% of women who know how to handle a gun or who are engaged in practical shooting as a sport, were influenced by a male in their lives whether it is the father, husband, brother, boyfriend, uncle or a male friend. Gun ownership, inarguably, is a man's world. But, it did not say that women cannot dip their fingers to it, if it is necessary, or even if she was just plain interested. In my case, the guilty party was my husband who suavely got my nod, first, for him to own a gun and later on, to join him on his shooting practice, tournaments and gun shows. I have to admit that in the beginning, I would cringe whenever I would see him working on his gun (and later on guns). I always have this thought that it will discharge accidentally and someone could get hurt. At that time, I could not even hold a gun. But then, gradually, I warmed up to it ---- I started holding the gun (no bullets, of course) until later on, my husband would be training me on how to hold it properly, how to get the right stance and eventually how to fire it. Believe it or not, within months, I was going with him on his practice shooting and tournaments. At first, I was the photographer and videographer. Eventually, I would be doing my own practice sessions and would join him on tournaments.

A Girl's Guide To The Criminal Mind

RRP $18.99

The USA has 76 percent of the world's serial killers. During the 1980s, FBI special agents traveled around the country to conduct death row interviews with 198 of them. The FBI agents from Quantico gained valuable insights into a predator's mindset. This information formed the basis of a new field of study called behavioral profiling.

This face-to-face research continues today. Thousands of serial rapists and sexual murderers have disclosed tricks of the trade to criminal profilers and forensic psychiatrists. But what the professionals discovered about their modus operandi has never been made available to those who need it most-their prey-and Alison Summers wants to change that. She spent seven years collecting material from FBI behavioral profilers, and forensic psychologists and psychiatrists, and then she condensed a treasure trove of lifesaving information into this easy-to-read guide for women and girls.

Experts believe a predator's best weapon is surprise. In this book, Summers takes that weapon away. Using real-life cases, prison interviews, and testimonies by rape survivors, Summers analyzes elements that are needed for the criminal's plan to succeed, and how we might outwit him. She shows us how to view people and hunting grounds through predatory eyes, and lists simple precautions that have saved lives. The author reveals the most popular ruses and verbal persuasions predators to use to win a victim's trust.

A Girl's Guide to a Criminal Mind is an original and powerful survival guide for women and girls who want to take back the night.

The Prairie Traveler

RRP $29.99

Literally a life-or-death guide to traveling the prairie lands, The Prairie Traveler: A Handbook for Overland Expeditions is a guide written for new emigrants in the late 1800s as they traveled to the West. During and soon after the Mormons began traveling to Utah, settlers and pioneers across the country began migrating further and further West in their search for a new life. As the government began getting reports that thousands were dying because they were unprepared for the harsh journey, the U.S. Army commissioned Brigadier General Randolph Marcy to write a guide for wary travelers. The Prairie Traveler not only warns pioneers of the harsh journey and describes the rough conditions they would face, but also suggests items to pack, the time of year to travel, the useful habits of American Indians, and the best routes to travel along the way. An absolute essential for any emigrant during Manifest Destiny, The Prairie Traveler is an interesting read for history buffs and The Oregon Trail game enthusiasts. RANDOLPH BARNES MARCY (1812-1887) was a Brigadier General in the U.S. Army. His work greatly assisted pioneers and settlers in the Western migration across the United States in the 17th and 18th centuries. Marcy was born in Massachusetts and graduated from West Point Military Academy in 1832. In the course of his military duties he spent time in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Utah, and the Rocky Mountains area. His extensive knowledge of the terrain, climate, and obstacles made Marcy the ideal candidate as author for The Prairie Traveler, which helped thousands of unprepared emigrants travel the unknown Western territories.
